Apple Wallet Gets a New Setting in iOS 26
Apple's Wallet app received a powerful set of new features in iOS 26, including a hidden addition: a new setting to disable promotional notifications. iOS 26 allows you to disable "offers and promotions" notifications in Wallet, which is the primary app for iPhones for credit cards, car keys, boarding passes, and more.
According to 9to5Mac, when you receive a notification from Wallet, it displays important financial records, flight changes, or something else of equal importance. However, earlier this year, as part of its marketing campaign for the film F1 The Movie, Apple sent a notification to Wallet with an offer for a movie ticket. Although the film was a huge success, this marketing tactic was not well-received by users.
Many users searched in Wallet's settings for a way to disable any future promotional alerts, but at the time, iOS 18 did not offer such an option.
However, in iOS 26, this setting became highly sought after. Open the Wallet app in iOS 26, tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner, and look for the "Notifications" menu option.
You will see toggle options for the following notification types:
* Transactions
* Discounts
* Orders
* Pre-authorized Payments
* New Features and Updates
* Offers and Promotions
This last setting, Offers and Promotions, is new in iOS 26 and is intended to prevent unwanted notifications in the future.
