Poe AI App Enables Interaction with Over 200 AI Models in a Single Conversation
Poe, the app from Quora that integrates various AI models into a single platform, has launched a group chat feature. The company announced that users worldwide will be able to start group chats with up to 200 other people and then collaborate across more than 200 AI models—including text, image, video, and audio generators—within a single conversation.
This launch comes just days after ChatGPT from OpenAI began testing group chats in markets such as Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan. This move is likely to transform the chatbot from a one-on-one AI interaction into a collaborative space where users can also interact with friends, family, or colleagues.
Quora says that adding group chats to Poe could enable new kinds of interactive experiences for AI users. For example, the company notes that families or friends could use this feature to plan a trip together using the search functionality of Gemini 2.5 and o3 Deep Research. Teams could also collaborate to brainstorm ideas about images to create mood boards using Poe's diverse image models, or groups could play fun games together using one of the app's test bots.
Group chats will allow users to collaborate using any combination of AI models or bots designed by creators, including models such as Claude 4.5 Sonnet, ElevenLabs v3, ElevenLabs Music, Nano Banana, GPT-5.1, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, o3 Deep Research, Sora 2 Pro, Veo 3.1, and others.
Poe users can start a group chat from the app's home screen at poe.com. During the chat, the conversation history is instantly synced across all your devices, allowing you to start the conversation on your computer and then switch to a mobile device without losing the conversation.
Quora has been developing this feature for the past six months and plans to continue improving group chats in the weeks following its launch, based on user feedback. The company stated in its announcement: "We believe the potential for group interactions using AI and the opportunities for collaboration with it are vast and largely unexplored." They added, "The product we're launching today allows anyone to create a custom bot on Poe and share it with others for use in their own groups, and we're excited to see the use cases everyone will discover."
