PlayStation Launches Mobile Beta of MLB The Show
PlayStation has announced the arrival of MLB The Show on mobile devices for the first time, with the release of a mobile beta version for iOS and Android. The beta is currently available only in the Philippines, while Sony plans to expand the global rollout at a later date, though no specific date has been announced.
The developer states that the game was created as a completely standalone experience and is not simply a port of the console version. The mobile version focuses on delivering realistic gameplay and enhanced graphics, with support for higher frame rates on high-end devices.
The company notes that the game is optimized for iPhone 16 and later models, as well as other compatible phones. These devices will receive the best graphics quality and higher resolution. However, the game will not support cross-play with PlayStation console versions, as it is a separate release.
The release of this game comes after a similar move by PlayStation last month, when it revealed Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, a game aimed at mobile phones, which confirms Sony’s continued expansion in the mobile gaming market after the establishment of the PlayStation Studios Mobile division in 2022.
