How to Create Strong Passwords in 6 Simple Steps
Many of us use dozens of different passwords daily, from online banking to social media accounts, but carelessness with passwords can lead to a security disaster.
According to the British newspaper the Daily Mail, experts have now revealed the best way to create truly strong passwords that protect you from criminals, and advise against reusing old passwords or writing down login credentials.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of the UK's intelligence agency GCHQ, has said it's time to ditch passwords altogether. The center announced it is conducting a "comprehensive review of decades-long practices" by advising users to stop relying on passwords and start using access keys instead.
Here are the most important tips for creating truly strong passwords to keep you safe online:
• Use a unique password for every site
• Don't change just one letter or number
• Don't include your personal information
• Use a long passphrase
• Don't write down your passwords
• Consider using a pass key instead
