WhatsApp is testing a feature to interact with calls using any emoji. Learn more.

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, continues to develop its features to enhance the voice and video calling experience. It is currently working on a new feature that will allow users to interact with calls using any emoji they choose, instead of being limited to the default ones.

According to WABetaInfo, a website that specializes in tracking WhatsApp updates, the company plans to expand the emoji interaction feature to include the entire emoji library, after it was limited to only six emojis in previous beta versions. This step will allow users to express themselves more accurately and personally during calls, whether audio or video.

The anticipated feature will allow users to browse various emoji categories during a call, including emojis, gestures, animals, objects, and more. The feature will also include a recently used emoji section, facilitating quick access to favorite emojis and reusing them without having to search again.

This addition aims to speed up interactions during conversations, especially in fast-paced calls that require instant expression, while allowing more space to express emotions and feelings in a more realistic way.

Although some previous versions of WhatsApp Beta offered the ability to interact with only six emoji during calls, the feature has not yet been widely rolled out. It appears that WhatsApp is waiting for the development of the ability to interact with any emoji before officially launching it to all users.

This feature is part of a series of updates the app is working on to enhance the call experience within the platform, keeping pace with shifts in digital communication methods and providing users with more tools for real-time expression and interaction.

As WhatsApp continues to test and develop new features, users are expected to see updates in the coming period that focus on improving the quality of personal interaction during calls and conversations, enhancing the user experience and making it more interactive and personalized.
